Brianne Garcia, a Dual Master Licensed Esthetician and Massage Therapist since 2005 has been developing her own specialty in customized corrective Chemical peels and deep tissue massage improving client’s range of motion, reducing pain and discomfort.
"Tell us a bit about your background that led you to skincare and massage therapy."
Some years ago, at the age of 25, I was searching for a new career path and began working with a doctor in a MedSpa where I discovered in myself a natural talent in performing massages that coincided with a newfound interest in skincare. It led me to become a licensed esthetician in 2005 and my passion for treating & transforming skin, educating clients about true skincare, and how to create healthy skin to reverse and prevent damage! I also grew a passion for helping clients into or their health and reduce pain, manage life/stress/workwear & tear in the body through therapeutic massage therapy. In conjunction with my interest in skincare came an interest in deep tissue massage.
"What qualifications and work experience do you have?"
Having acquired my Esthetician license in 2005 and having worked at the MedSpa, I began working for some of the best 5-Star destination Spas in San Diego. Rather quickly I developed my specialty in customized corrective Chemical peels to transform the client’s skin to a younger, more youthful, clear, even, firm, tight, and supple glowing skin. I found that I also enjoyed the massage portion in facial services, and as a licensed Esthetician, colleagues and other professionals within the industry encouraged me to also become a licensed massage therapist since they felt my talent in massage, understanding the anatomy.
Thereafter, I continued working and also teaching the Esthetician’s advanced chemical exfoliating treatments; Chemical peels and the best products to use in the transformation while attending school for massage therapy. I was trained at work as well by some of the best massage therapists in San Diego. My very first professional massage was on a professional athlete who required a deep tissue massage to relieve the pain, which lead me to specialize in deep tissue massage to break down muscle tension, reduce pain & discomfort.
Together with gaining vast experience while treating my clientele, I also have maintained a regime of extensive continuing education in education in advanced skin care treatments & services including skin analysis, Dermaplaning, advanced skin care exfoliating services, extensive training in massage modalities; prenatal massage, hot stone massage, cupping therapy, warm bamboo infusion, & table Thai massage for stretching to help clients receive optimum results with their skin & pain relief from their massage therapy sessions.
How has your career developed over the years?
Over these many years, I continued working with the finest of Spas within San Diego, which included treatment for well-known celebrities visiting San Diego, and also began an exclusive mobile service for my private clientele that quickly become very popular and successful. I worked in some of the best 5 Star destination spas as a lead esthetician and massage therapist. Since 2016, I transitioned away from administering treatment within the local Spas and work solely for my private clientele, visiting their home or office for treatment.
What differentiates your services from treatment at a local Spa?
First and foremost is my years of experience and continuing education in the treatment and knowledge of new product lines in skincare, followed by extensive experience in providing a medical massage that treats both tension and pain with quite amazing results. Unlike a Spa treatment that provides a variety of options to choose from, all condensed into a pattern of treatment, be it tension or pain, and what results they would like to see from their skincare treatment. I then customize both the massage and skincare treatment to focus on their particular needs. During a session, we may address just one area of the body to alleviate the tension or pain and the results have proven that my techniques do provide clients a significant amount of improvement. Up to 90% improvement after just one massage with my techniques.
Have you found that your mobile services are well received by your clientele?
My clientele love the convenience of it all. Not having to leave their home to drive to a location and after the treatment have to come out of the Spa, head back to their car and drive off, whereas in the privacy of their home, they may continue the relaxation of the experience and transition into what they have planned for the day or not, at a pace of their own choosing. Some clients book for multiple members of the family on the same day, which allows them quality time with their family while receiving much needed self-care.
Have you other team members that you work with in offering services?
I have chosen to work independently so that I can be assured, and my clientele can be assured that when they choose to make an appointment they will receive the very finest that my years-long experience can offer them.
What has been the key to your success?
The key to my success has been my grit and the passion in me that inspires me to be the very best at providing an excellent treatment for skincare and massage therapy. With my continuing education and self-development within my field including; advanced top of the line medical grade skin care products and advancements, continuing education on top of the line advanced medical-grade results-driven skincare services, self-development, business & customer service to continue to best serve my clients with the highest level of service.
Has there been one quote that you live by each and every day?
Absolutely so! “Stay within your lane.” It has helped me so much from breaking free from following protocols as an employee to stepping out into full time self- employment. Working in my strengths, not comparing myself to others, doing what my talents dictate, and finding my niche, while focusing on my efforts to serve my clientele to best of my ability.
Where comes your greatest satisfaction from your career?
My greatest satisfaction comes when my client finds that after my massage treatment, their struggles walking or their inability to lift their arm above shoulder has dissipated and they have regained their mobility, together with the lessening of tension and pain within their body. It provides great relief to my client and great satisfaction to me.
Which areas of San Diego do you serve?
Keep in mind that we are mobile, however the greater number of clients that we serve reside in La Jolla and Rancho Santa Fe.
